Psychological Testing & Assessments

It is important to understand the process associated with psychological testing as no one test can confirm a diagnosis or help us understand a child or adolescent. A thorough evaluation is completely individualized. First, we met with parents to gain a thorough developmental, medical and social history. We also review school records and contact teachers. We take the time to develop a unique testing plan for your child’s needs to better understand them and provide tailored treatment plans.

It is also important to understand the breakdown of costs for such evaluations. First, the necessary testing kits and associated materials (computer scoring software, questionnaire subscriptions, test data storage) are quite expensive for psychologists. In addition to the face-to-face time it takes to administer tests (usually 3 to 6 hours across multiple days), scoring these evaluations and formulating thoughtful summaries and recommendations is quite lengthy. We are highly-qualified, doctoral-level psychologists with specialized and extensive training and it is important to us to take as much time as needed to accurately determine strengths and weaknesses, diagnostic presentation and helpful treatments. Each uniquely written report not only provides the answers you need, but gives you individualized recommendations for home and school as well as other potential interventions. Following the testing process, we meet directly with you to discuss findings, allow opportunities to answer questions, and schedule follow up as needed.
