Dr. Jaclyn Starritt, a long-term resident of the Triangle area, holds a BA in Psychology from North Carolina State University and a PhD in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her professional experience includes an internship at Duke University Medical Center, where she specialized in medical psychology and psychoeducational evaluations.
Upon graduating in 2009, Dr. Starritt entered private practice, where she has garnered extensive experience in conducting comprehensive evaluations for a diverse range of concerns, including learning disabilities, attentional and behavioral challenges, and giftedness. Her practice encompasses individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents, and women, assisting them in addressing various issues such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), parenting stress, and life transitions. Recognizing the unique needs of each client, Dr. Starritt believes in a custom-tailored treatment approach. She integrates various treatment modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to achieve her clients’ objectives.
As a licensed psychologist in North Carolina and a member of PSYPACT, Dr. Starritt offers telehealth services in over 40 states. Additionally, she provides in-person evaluations and therapy within our office.
Dr. Starritt believes that therapy is a crucial part of the transformative journey toward positive change. In her professional practice with children and adolescents, she emphasizes the significant of collaborating with parents to establish balance and foster an understanding of the challenges being faced. Dr. Starritt finds great joy in helping individuals discover their authentic voice as they navigate and adapt to the complexities of life.
